F1 Indian Grand Prix 2011 results....


Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing team lead from start to finish to win inaugural Indian Grand Prix race on October 30th, 2011 at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, near New Delhi.

The world Champion won the title with 1 hour 30 mins and 35 seconds and it was just 8.4 seconds lesser than the second place winner, Jenson Button of McLaren Mercedes. Fernando Alonso of Ferrari came third.

This is Sebastian Vettel’s 11th victory for the 2011 F1 season.

Most of sports personalities and Bollywood stars were present at the Grand Prix including Sachin Tendulkar, Shah Rukh Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu, etc.

Tendulkar's long-time friend and seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, with whom the Indian batsman met before the start of the race, finished fifth.

Sahara Force India's Adrian Sutil managed to secure points, finishing ninth after starting from the eighth position on the grid, while his teammate Paul di Resta was 13th.

The lone Indian driver in the fray, Narain Karthikeyan of Hispania Racing F1 team finished 17th after starting from the rear of the grid.

 "Wonderfully organised F1 event by Jaypee. A world class track with excellent facilities for spectators. Truly a memorable day for all of us. What an experience it was to wave the chequered flag!!! Got to keep it as well!!! :-)" said Indian star cricketer and maestro Sachin Tendulkar.
